This is David, he a student from Germany... and for good reasons... we spent the better half of Flag Day Afternoon... playing tourist, with me as man in the street photographer! He came to view my Exhibit, after picking up a "Gage" Gallery postcard at the Chicago Culture Center. Ironically, it was my suggestion to put the cards there... and I want to publically thank myself for making the day happen. Here are a few images from that day. If you are in the Chicagoland area... come visit, good things happen to those who visit the Friendly Confines of San Francisco in the 1970s.
I spent 23 years in Exile in San Francisco, from the early 1960s until the late 1980s. I was a freelance photographer and publicist specializing in one-of-a-kind clients and
businesses. My photos have appeared in
books, exhibits and documentaries. I have
been involved in politics, sports and theater promotions. For over 25 years I was known
as the "Bleacher Preacher" in and around
the "Friendly Confines" of Chicago's Wrigley
Field. At 75, I am retired and was hoping to have a documentary film about my images and stories as well as a possible series of coffee table books. If there is anyone OUT there, please let me know if your interested in collaborating to make it happen. I recently was inducted into the Chicago Senior Citizen Hall of Fame for my contributions to GLBT history.
If you've any comments about the posts, please post them! Part of doing this blog is to inspire and continue discussion about our collective history... I'd love to hear from you.
